The 7-in-1 outdoor sensor array (WS90) which no longer uses the traditional tipping bucket rain gauge, but a haptic sensor which measures rainfall. The revised rainfall sensor is slightly sloped to improve accuracy and prevent rain pooling.
The outdoor sensor also measures temperature, humidity, wind speed, wind direction, rainfall, UV level and light intensity. It requires mounting on the top of a 1 inch pole to ensure accurate readings and should be used with a compatible GW series gateway or display console.

My original 7 - 1 lost the temperature sensor about 18 months ago. Then after the wettest start to 2026, it lost all the sensors.
The other stand-alone sensors worked - so I knew the console okay and was about to replace like-for-like when I saw this newer model.
It arrived quickly, well packaged and seems really well made. I disconnected everything and then put the batteries in the new sensor which started to flash correctly but that was it. No reading on the console. I tried again and again, looked online and read post after post - trying each of ideas. Nothing.
I was about to give up when I must have phrased the question in the search box slightly differently and DuckDuckGo's AI generated an answer with the steps to try and number one was upgrade your firmware! Doh!
Did that and bingo - it connected. It seems happy and accurate by comparing it to other stations in the area.
Will add that this sensor is much easy to install than the traditional one. Push in pole, tighten lightly, twist to north and tighten fully. It looks really professional and slightly sci-fi. I do miss the old wind cups spinning in a gale.
Weather Spares are always helpful and I'll be using them again.
