This requires the bracket to enable it to be fixed to the ISS. The unit needs to be level to aid in it's accuracy. There is a spirit bubble in the housing but unfortunately shoddy workmanship has adhered the bubble at an angle making it useless. I was able to get the product level using other means. Compared to other sites, readings seem quite high, occasionally exceeding 1200wm². I would have thought 1000 to 1100wm² would be more realistic. Overall I'm happy but could be better for the money.
Hi Stephen, thank you for your detailed feedback. We're glad you're generally happy with the sensor and if comparing to other station readings then there are a couple of things to consider. Davis solar and UV sensors can drift by a maximum of 2% per annum so an older sensor local to you could read lower for comparison. It is also possible that a small amount of reflected radiation is picked up from glass or other nearby surfaces on a particularly bright day if the sensor isn't in an open field. I hope that this explains some reasons for the higher than expected reading.
