Davis Vantage Pro2 Rain Tipping Spoon upgrade 7345.147 released mid 2019. A redesigned rain tipping spoon assembly which improves accuracy and reliability.

Now standard in all Davis Vantage Pro2 weather stations.

Simply remove the existing see-saw assembly of the Pro2 and clip this in its place with the emptying spoon facing the rear of the station.

Measures in 0.2mm increments.

Excellent

Now we've had some rain in Essex at last! I can confirm that this is an excellent upgrade to the Davis Vantage pro 2. It appears to be very accurate and a big improvement on the tipping spoons

Exceeded expectation a worthwhile DIY upgrade

I received one of these back in 2019 until now the opportunity to thoroughly test has been limited by the lack of consistent rainfall however that all changed in recent days .Based on previously used dual tipping spoon supplied in original Davis VP2 back in 2017 the performance of this newer single tipping spoon is significantly improved under very windy 50-75kmh winds and measuring accumulation of rainfall which was always difficult using previous dual tipper method.
I highly recommend this product as a worthwhile DIY upgrade the performance it is a big step forward especially measuring rainfall under windy conditions..many thanks to Weather Spares for trouble free shipment to here in Turkey..Brian (Weather34)

Fast and efficient service!

I was just about ready to try calibrating my tipping bucket on my 3 year old vPro2+DFARS when I noticed Davis had a new upgraded tipping bucket. The old one has a see-saw method of tipping bucket that passes a sensor each time it moves, but most owners have said this sometimes misses the a number of tips from time to time. My values were down by a few mm each day from local sites, so I purchased this from weatherspares and fitted it ASAP. What a difference. I also have a CocoRaHS Rain Gauge to fall back on and so far the new Davis rain gauge is virtually on par with the Manual gauge. If your having issues like me with the tipping bucket, this new gauge should fix your issues. Thanks to Adrian @ weatherspares for a fast and efficient service!
