The Ecowitt GW1102 weather station consists of the anemometer with solar radiation and UV Sensor, a separate outdoor temperature and humidity sensor along with the revised WiFi gateway (GW1100) and self emptying rain gauge making a great sensor set for those that want a modular weather station with full internet access.
The anemometer sensor set measures wind speed, wind direction, UV level and light intensity.
A separate temperature and humidity sensor allows for versatile placement and a separate rain sensor measures rain fall and is self emptying for easy of use.
The GW1100 WiFi gateway is USB powered and also has builtin temperature, humidity and barometric pressure sensors for indoor readings. The GW1100 gateway has these sensors on a wired probe so that they can be kept away from sources of heat which would skew readings.
This data, along with the outdoor sensor data is uploaded to the Ecowitt service via WiFi and is used to calculate rainfall rate, wind chill, dew point and heat index. All of this can be viewed on the App, or Ecowitt weather website.
You are not just limited to weather data on the Ecowitt weather site or App, you can share your data further afield with free access to The UK MetOffice WoW service, Weather Underground, WeatherCloud and your own web server.
The GW1102 is a revised model of the very popular GW1002 model with the latest GW1100 gateway.
Unlike some other stations, the Ecowitt GW1102 can be expanded with a variety of sensors, click here to view the latest Ecowitt sensor matrix.
All of these are available to view in the App, or online via Ecowitt.net and in the 3rd party services that support this sensor type.
